Over the last 10 years, the Pittsburgh Technology Council's Creative Industries Network, lead by Founding Director, Kim Chestney, conducted two in-depth research studies on the power of the Creative Industries in Pittsburgh and around the United States. What are the key ingredients to creative success? How to we fuel the creative economy? And what does that economy really look like? 2016 PITTSBURGH REGIONAL CREATIVE INDUSTRIES ASSET MAPPING STUDY

PITTSBURGH’S CREATIVE ASSETS, CORRIDORS, and CONVERGENCE CENTERS, the 2016 Pittsburgh Regional Creative Industries Study, published by the Pittsburgh Technology Council, examines the landscape of the region's creative business landscape.
The study, a follow-up to the 2014 Inclusion, Innovation + Design study, maps the densities of creative entrepreneurs, creative talent and freelancers, in addition to cataloging over 1000 Creative Industry-related companies and organizations.

2014 CREATIVE CLUSTERS STUDY: INCLUSION, INNOVATION + DESIGN

It’s no secret that Pittsburgh’s creative economy is rich with potential. In 2014, the Pittsburgh Technology Council and Carnegie Mellon University set out to discover the realities of the region’s creative assets, and what it takes do to elevate them to the next level. Partnering with the University of Toronto’s Martin Prosperity Group and Dr. Kevin Stolarick, lead researcher for Richard Florida's Creative Class, the Creative Industries Network launched an in-depth study of regional companies, organizations and individuals who are contributing to the region’s creative growth and innovation.
